What type of policy do I need?
A tenants policy provides personal belongings coverage for individuals who lease an apartment or dwelling. There are many different types of coverage programs that vary in price and coverage.

How much coverage is needed?
The best and easiest way to determine how much coverage you need would be to take an inventory of your contents and personal belongings. Try to determine how much you originally paid for the items and, whenever possible, keep receipts, especially on the big ticket items. Then store the information off premises, preferably in a safety deposit box and update the information as often as is needed. Please keep in mind that your landlord is not responsible for any damages to or for the theft of any of your contents or personal belongings or for your own personal liability exposures.
